Representative Anna Paulina Luna recently amplified a message that highlighted her firm opposition to Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and digital ID systems. This action underscores her alignment with core crypto principles. This is a significant pro-crypto signal. For us, a strong stance against CBDCs is a strong stance *for* crypto. CBDCs risk creating a system of financial surveillance and control, directly opposing the principles of privacy and individual sovereignty championed by technologies like Bitcoin. By rejecting this path, a policymaker is actively preserving the space for decentralized, permissionless finance to grow. This action is not an outlier for Rep. Luna; it’s consistent with a robust pro-crypto record. She has been a vocal opponent of a US CBDC and has backed her words with action, voting in favor of key legislation like the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT21), which aims to provide much-needed regulatory clarity for digital assets. By highlighting her anti-CBDC position, she signals a deep understanding of the stakes and a commitment to protecting the future of digital financial freedom. This is why we categorize this as a 'Very For Crypto' stance.

The Senate GOP is pulling some massive trash with the NDAA meanwhile undermining POTUS with his confirmations. Guess what? NO ANTI-CBDC legislation in NDAA? Taxpayer dollars for Taliban? The same POS's that shot my husband? UKRAINE funding? NDAA in current form is NO GO sincerely WE THE PEOPLE.

GENIUS Act

Details
The GENIUS Act of 2025 proposes a regulatory framework for payment stablecoins. It defines permitted issuers (insured depository institutions, their subsidiaries, and approved nonbank entities) and mandates 1:1 reserve backing with specific high-quality assets. The bill outlines federal and state regulatory oversight options, sets requirements for customer asset segregation, and grants stablecoin holders priority in insolvency proceedings. It also clarifies that regulated payment stablecoins are not considered securities or commodities under various acts. The bill designates issuers as financial institutions under the Bank Secrecy Act, requiring compliance with AML, KYC, and sanctions regulations to prevent illicit finance and safeguard national security. It also reinforces U.S. leadership in digital finance by supporting innovation and ensuring the dollar remains competitive in a rapidly evolving global financial landscape.

This is a major victory— anti-CBDC protections will now be codified in the NDAA. Thank you, Tom. A huge win for freedom. Well done, @GOPMajorityWhip.

Attaching our Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act to the NDAA will ensure unelected bureaucrats are NEVER allowed to trade Americans’ financial privacy for a CCP-style surveillance tool. @POTUS has made it clear: our legislation is a key piece of our America First agenda, and we will deliver.

I support crypto but cannot get behind anything that allows for a backdoor to CBDC. There was a vote to allow legislation to come to the floor that would enable that to happen. Thus I voted no. Happy to support any pro-crypto bill, but I will NOT back CBDC’s.
