CBDC would give the federal government absolute control over your money and is a dangerous threat to freedom. Yesterday at @FinancialCmte, I asked @federalreserve Chair Powell if The Fed or any of its member banks are conducting studies into CBDC. See Powell's response below ⤵️ https://t.co/CRzI1Z8WvR

Despite protest, stable coins, crypto, and blockchain technology are not going away. Congress must work to ensure that there is a framework for the proliferation of what Americans want to invest-in moving forward.

Congressman Byron Donalds (@RepDonaldsPress) gets it. His recent tweet correctly points out that crypto, stablecoins, and blockchain tech are here to stay, regardless of any resistance. He emphasizes the crucial need for Congress to establish a framework that supports the growth of these technologies, recognizing the demand from American investors. This stance is unequivocally pro-crypto and earns him a well-deserved 100 rating. He understands that trying to stop the adoption of crypto is a fool's errand and instead advocates for sensible regulation that allows innovation to flourish while protecting consumers. This is exactly the kind of leadership we need in Washington. A clear regulatory framework will provide much-needed clarity for businesses operating in the crypto space, fostering innovation and investment. This benefits everyone, from entrepreneurs to everyday investors. It's refreshing to see a politician who understands the transformative potential of these technologies and is working to create a regulatory environment that allows them to thrive.

The future of finance is the digital assets space. The future of technology is AI. If our nation is to remain a dominant global force in the future of finance and technology... 1 – We have to increase baseload power 2 – We have to modernize the grid

The passage of the FIT 21 Act not only highlights the role digital assets will play in our country’s future but is a strong, bipartisan rebuke of the extreme overreach by the rogue bureaucratic state, particularly at the @SECGov.

CBDC would give the federal government absolute control over your money. This is a dangerous threat to freedom. It is critical that we work to protect the American people from government tyranny & that we never allow the creation of CBDC in America.

If you don’t think the Fed is pursuing a CBDC, think again. The Fed gave this to my staff during a presentation earlier this Congress. They view a CBDC as one of their KEY DUTIES.

We're in the Information Age. Our financial regulatory framework is based upon a time when you had to actually present a stock certificate to realize stock ownership–that's not the case today. We're in a world where cryptocurrency & digital assets have inherent intrinsic value.

Quoted from blockworks.co on Feb 19th, 2024

Op-Ed published by Representative Byron Donalds in Blockworks:

"As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, I’ve planted my stake in the ground to support access to capital. I want to ensure that government overreach is deterred, especially when it comes to advancing the digital asset marketplace. The House Financial Services and House Agriculture Committees took a major step forward for the digital asset community with the passage of the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act, or FIT, back in July 2023. The bill sets out the first comprehensive regulatory framework for the ecosystem and reigns in the rogue agencies seeking to decapitate the budding industry. Unfortunately, the Upper Chamber — with the help of both Democrats and Republicans — is working overtime to buck the actions of the House in favor of policies to eliminate their decentralized competition. Look no further than Senator Warren, D-Mass’., Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act, and Senator Reed, D-RI’s Crypto Asset National Security Enhancement and Enforcement Act (CANSEE Act)..."

The digital assets industry is in its infancy stage. A major concern of mine is if Washington will try to effectuate an outcome in the industry by: 🚩Overregulating industry actors 🚩Getting in the way 🚩Stifling innovation This has happened before. It shouldn't happen again.

I want federal government with CLEAR rules of the road. Ex. Crypto/ Dig. Asset Regulation Many people are engaged in this new industry but Dems want to overregulate. How will innovators create thriving small businesses when overregulation creates legitimate barriers to entry?
